The objective of the study was to determine the extent to which various categories of farm households received extension services in the year-end Rabi of 1999/2000, the appropriateness of the services received, and the gaps in services perceived by the households. Data for the study were collected from a nationally representative sample of 7,500 farm households under five categories: (a) landless farmers, (b) homestead farmers, (c) tenant farmers, (d) small farmers, and (e) medium and large farmers.
The survey was awarded by the HTS Consultants Limited/UK and funded by the DFID.
