The main purpose of this baseline survey was to identify a cohort for the survey longitudinally during the course of the project. Data were collected in the baseline survey on various factors directly or indirectly related to nutrition. 

This survey was undertaken under a contract awarded by the Micronutrient Support Project for the Bangladesh Integrated Nutrition Project (BINP) of the International Food and Nutrition Center at TUFTS University, USA.
