Monitoring Survey of WFP Food Assistance Program (2001)

The survey was designed to estimate the percentage of eligible beneficiaries, the selected flood-affected people in the southwest of Bangladesh who had received WFP food assistance, funded by the DFID. The purpose of determining this estimate was to enable a decision to be made about whether or not the targeting of food assistance was accurate enough to continue funding.

The data for the survey were collected from a systematic random sample of 2,100 households comprising both male and female respondents. The survey was carried out in 61 unions of three upazilas of the south-western highland of Bangladesh that suffered an unprecedented flooding in the late 2000.

The survey was commissioned and funded by the DFID.
