urvey on Health in Dhaka City (2005-2006)

The urban health survey was conducted at 3 selected slums in Dhaka City covering 800 households in which all heads of household and all women of reproductive age were interviewed. The survey also undertook 60 in-depth interviews each on 8 designated themes (a total of 480 interviews).

 

The following tasks were conducted for the survey:

 

  • selecting of the survey areas
  • translating into Bangla and editing of survey questionnaires
  • recruiting and placing of field staff
  • pre-testing
  • training of field personnel
  • collecting data 
  • processing data
  • submitting of clean final data

The survey was commissioned by the NCEPH of ANU and funded by the AusAID.
